Alarms confirmation in Scotland
The British Security Industry Association said it welcomed an amendment to the ACPOS (Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland) Security Systems Policy.
The change follows consultation with the BSIA, the National Security Inspectorate (NSI), the Security Systems Alarm Inspection Board (SSAIB), the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and the Scottish Police Service.
Alex Carmichael, BSIA technical director said: "BSIA members welcome this change which is sure to play a significant part in reducing false alarm rates in Scotland as has been the case in England and Wales.
"This will build on the fact that since the introduction of the original policy in 2002, Scottish Police Forces now attend 100,000 fewer alarm activations per year."
